Some Karate, some Circus, some Caesar Salad, and some Snow!

What a fun weekend!  And when I say weekend, I just mean Saturday and Sunday because even though I didn’t work a full day on Thursday and had Friday off, they weren’t too much fun…

So Saturday we had leftover chicken and a head of lettuce to I wanted chicken Caesar salad, but we didn’t have and Caesar dressing.  A few searches shows that it’s pretty easy to make, but did you know real Caesar dressing has anchovies in it?  I would have never guessed!  The homemade was pretty good.  But Kelly will never let me off the hook now…

However!  Saturday was The Lockport Exchange Club Charity Ring Circus!  And JP’s Little Ninja class was part of the show!

JP tries to clear the slide of snow for Ryan…  Results may vary…

Ryan Finally has a Little Head!  JP and Mom go at it with snowballs, and Ryan tries the slide a few times!

Finally!!  Ryan goes a little too fast down the slide!

One Upped…

So yesterday after the Doc, Kelly drove me to her parents house to get my car.  It wasn’t certain I’d be able to drive, but the doc gave it the green light.  Kelly was gonna hang out there since Ryan was napping and JP usually doesn’t get picked up til later.  So during the ride I told Kelly that I was going to the pharmacy to get the prescription filled (pain meds).  She looked at me, and with a VERY serious tone said “I gave birth to two kids by C-Section, and the only thing I ever took was Tylenol!’  I still got the script filled, but I’ll be damned if I touch them for this!  My knee on the other hand may need it…

I’m doing better, still no pain.  Just that uncomfortable feeling.  Maybe it my new inadequacy?  Maybe that was my fear of shoveling (for now) and watching Kelly go out and do it.  Why did it have to snow a foot after I have this done?  I did try to snow blow it but it was too heavy for out little snow thrower…  Oh well…

So I Did It!

What exactly did I do?  I… hmm…  How do I say this.  I made sure that I will now longer be adding to the population!  It didn’t hurt (yet).  It’s just very uncomfortable…  Like someone kicking me in the ***** consistently.  But just lightly not too hard.  Kinda like someone doing “Stop hitting yourself!” to your nether region…  So that was my day, how was your’s?

Back to the boys!  Ryan is looking a lot better.  The swelling seems to be almost completely gone but it’s starting to bruise quickly!  That’s okay, he’ll look like a tough guy!  No quotes from JP today, Sorry!

Oh Boy…

So Ryan finally got his first major boo-boo.  And thankfully it happened at Grandma Betty’s house and not mine!  He fell while walking while carrying a toy, and the toy hit the face!

Now he has a lip to match his cheeks!  We tried to get him to eat a freezy pop but he wouldn’t have any of it.  He has all his teeth, and none are chipped, and he ate dinner (duh), so he’s fine.  Actually, by the time I put him to bed the swelling was at least half of what the picture looks like.

Two good JP quotes:

The first one happened Sunday as we were trying to get ready for Splash Lagoon.  The only thing left to pack was us, and Ryan was not cooperating at all.  In fact, he was at the opposite corner of the house!  JP wanted to go and asked what was left and we told him Ryan.  He looked at us and said:

“Just leave a trail of food and Ryan will be right here!”

Today I took the girls for a walk with JP while we were waiting for Kelly to get home with the injured Ryan.  For some reason JP thought I was trying to get him in some danger because we have to walk in the street (no sidewalks).  So I asked him if I ever let him get hurt.  He didn’t miss a beat.  “At Jackie’s party you let me fall down the slide and I had all that stuff in my mouth!”  Okay…..  At Jackie’s graduation party he was playing on the playground (during the few times it wasn’t raining…) and the slide was really slippery and he lost his balance and went down head first and then face first into the mulch.  I was like 50 feet away!!  When he does these things he reminds me of his Aunt Jackie with the memory…

Splash Lagoon!

What an odd trip…  We went to Splash Lagoon on Sunday and returned on Monday using a gift certificate that Great-Aunt Sue and family gave us way too long ago!  Sunday was a blast and both JP and Ryan wouldn’t/couldn’t stop!  JP went on all the water slides that they would let him on (they have one that he’s too small for!).  Ryan really like the kiddy pond with the kiddy slides and the water bouncers!  But Ryan wouldn’t sleep Sunday night.  AT ALL.  Even kept up poor JP!  He must have had a bad belly because he had some nasty diapers today!  At least he had fun the day before!

The park:

The Park Wet!

Dad and JP enjoying the Lazy River and trying not to fall asleep!

Proof that Ryan did have fun!

Lots of photos here!  Click me!

Because the Posts come SLOW!

I added a subscription service so that you can recieve an email when I get my lazy butt around to updating this place,  Of course now I’ll make a post for like 10 days in a row and the people that do subscribe will get mad at all the emails!

Look for the Link on the Left side towards the top.  Let me know if you have any problems.  If your email program treats this like spam then that not my fault!

Long Time No See!

JP is really getting into karate!  He finally started with his official uniform!

Boy he looks serious.  LIKE HE’S GONNA SERIOUSLY KICK YOUR BUTT!

Kiss your butt goodbye…

Ryan on the other hand finally had a day or two where his nose wasn’t running!  And does he try to make the most of it!

It’s a bit long but boy is it funny at times!

Question Of the Month…

JP asked Kelly a question.  It was kinda as much of an observation as a question.

JP – Why does everybody have 1, 2, or 3 kids?

Mommy – Not everyone has kids.

JP – Yes they do!

Mommy – What about Uncle Steven and Aunt Jackie?

JP – Ugh…  Uncle Steven is Grandma’s kid!  And Jackie is Uncle Steven’s sister!

Mommy – ???  Okay, what about Aunt Kristin?

JP – (Thinking Hard) Silly Aunt Kristin!

I don’t ask, I just try to write it down before I forget it all!

At Karate today they practiced the ultimate teamwork – The Three Legged Race!  And because my Mother is reading this saying “The what?”, that’s where 2 people stand side by side and the 2 inside legs are tied together and then the teams race!  And boy was I shocked because JP’s team won!  He was actually faster then someone!  And it wasn’t Ryan!  Plus I got his uniform so I need to get a picture of him in that, should be cute handsome!

That’s another quick topic.  Ryan had his 15 month check up (yes they included shots, but he didn’t shed a single tear!).  32 inches tall (75th percentile) and 23.5 pounds (50th percentile).  So sometime in the next 6 months he’ll be as tall as JP…

Ryan also started walking without have his hands and arms in the “frankinstein” pose for balance.  He looks so old now…  He should start driving any day now!

Me?? Slacker??? maybe…

Sorry it’s been a while.  Ryan’s been a handful the last few weeks with a nasty cold.  Buggers to his knees handful!  So I guess that’s literally!  Enough of the gross stuff!  He’s feeling better and eating and eating and eating…  Not sure if it’s a growth spurt (from now til he’s 17 I guess) or he just watches JP eating and eating and eating…

Speaking of, JP started Karate last week!  He’s in the little Ninja Program at the USA Self Defense Center.  They are SO good working with the kids using a good balance of respect for the teachers and lots of fun.  So far he’s only had female teachers, which I have no problem with, however, I get a lot of “Yes Ma’am” at home directed at me.   I can never win…

Look – Proof that he always is eating!

One just woke up, one is going to sleep, you pick the right one!
