The Carmina Whine

First the cool.  JP had his first baseball scrimmage today.  And he went 3 for 3!  I was shocked.  Of course the ball only went maybe 10 feet but a base hit is a base hit.  ANYWAYS, during the game I noticed the sun looked kinda odd.  When I saw it – a complete rainbow around the sun!  It was one of the coolest things I’ve seen in the sky!  Of course this had to be one of the rare times I didn’t have my camera and my phone wouldn’t do it justice so I stole my Dad’s phone which captured this:

Yes it didn’t turn out that well but I was using a cell phone and taking a picture of the sun isn’t easy to begin with!  Does remind me of the “Burning” sunsets we had in Sept of 2004!

They were a bit weird….  All unnatural and eerie and fascinating all at the same time…

On to the cute!  Ryan loves slides, he’s just not too good at stopping at the bottom….

Before I get to the Disturbing part, my son does his best Aunt Jackie impersonation!

Now to the Disturbing part.  My brother’s newest favorite song, “Good Girl” by Carrie Underwood.  At least he doesn’t cross dress (that I know of!)!

So last weekend we went and had a picnic at Fort Niagara.  Now we had a little rain, but only for a couple of minutes so it wasn’t so bad.  The boys didn’t seem to mind!

The Easter Egg Hunt!  It took Jonathan almost 9 minutes to find his…  I’m almost disgusted!!

This week is spring break and we took a few days to do some thing with the kids.  Yesterday was the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls, Ontario.  The place was huge with butterflies EVERYWHERE!  To the point where it was hard to move sometimes!  And it was expensive.  Considering you can only spend about 2 hours maximum in there, it cost us $30 for the 4 of us to get in.  Do I recommend?  Yes, but only if you find a coupon or use the package deal with other activities where it makes more sense.  Or if you’re a Butterfly nut!

JP had one land on him and I didn’t want to tell him because he’d freak out!

Today was “Bring Your Future to Work” Day at the DOT.  They did a good job entertaining the kids.  JP really liked it.  He wanted me to show him how I make maps.  So I started showing him and he was all “Dad, I got it” on me.  And the Scary part was that he did!  He was whipping around on the computer like nothing!

And then he fit right in….  In our defense, it was lunch time!

I Missed out on a lot!  Super Saturday! Easter Egg Hunt!  And More!

Super Saturday!  JP played 2 games – one as a goalie, the other as a skater.  He got bored as a goalie….  very bored!

You don’t know what SOTM is????  Get with the Acronyms !  I’m a government worker, that’s how I talk!  So JP revieved his 2nd SOTM today!  Okay, okay…  Student Of The Month!  This time for Math!

Ryan has been potty training lately and we’ve been struggling with No. 2.  It’s getting bad…

I neglect this blog….  Oh well..

So winter in Buffalo isn’t normal this year.  Like not even close.  We’ve only had about 3 opportunities to go sledding this winter.  3!  We finally got around to it.  Ryan was done after 1 run since it was pretty cold (15!).  JP didn’t want to stop, even after sunset!

And then Ryan started writing letter really good about 2 weeks ago, but I didn’t see this coming!

It took a few days, but JP finally finished his Lego Pirate Ship!
